An opinion tells how someone feels about a topic or issue.
Ex: Wildfires are horrible in California and they should really do something about them.

A claim is a position someone takes on an issue or topic.
Ex: The Forest Service needs more funding for programs to reduce wildfires in California.

An argument is a claim that is supported with solid reasons and evidence.

Ex: With 3 million dollars, the Forest Service could effectively use controlled burns in areas that are frequently ravaged by wildfires to prevent future uncontrolled fires.
