8th Grade Narrative Writing Project

Hi guys!

I'm super stoked to see what you come up with during this creative writing assignment. The ideal narrative will be suspenseful or cause your reader to feel anxiety, use descriptive detail to make your story incredibly visual, be three paragraphs long, and demonstrate the fundamentals of writing and language usage.

• IAN pg 24: handwritten examples of language conventions from notes on pg 25
• IAN pg 25 install (notes; must include 4 of 8 in your writing; read plz)
• IAN pg 26: Your first draft of your suspenseful narrative, handwritten after you've completed pgs 27, 28, and 30. DUE 11/15 (A), 11/6 (B)
• IAN pg 27 install (fill this out as your brainstorm FIRST)
• IAN pg 28: Your first paragraph, handwritten SECOND
• IAN pg 29 install (notes and ideas; read plz)
• IAN pg 30: Your last paragraph, handwritten THIRD
• IAN pg 31 install (notes and ideas; read plz)

Timeline:

• First draft completed by 11/15 (A) or 11/16 (B) 
• must be complete before you can type your second draft
• Editing first draft, typing second draft - in class 11/15 (A), 11/16 (B)
• Revising and refining third/final draft - in class on 11/27 (A), 11/28 (B)
• Final draft due by 11/29 (A), 11/30 (B)
