Objective
I will begin Collection 1 in my textbook.
Agenda
Bellwork: distribution of Close Reader workbooks (for real this time)
Collection 1 - academic vocab activity

1. Copy the 5 academic vocab terms from textbook page 2 onto the VERY LAST lined page in your IAN (the one touching the bathroom pass). 
2. The title of this page will be "Academic Vocab - Collection 1". 
3. Next to each term, write its definition and draw a quick doodle.

Close Reader workbook activity

1. In your workbook (not textbook), turn to page 3. 
2. Read "Big Things Come in Small Packages" (pgs 3-12) all the way through without stopping.
3. Take a deep breath, stretch, etc.
4. Reread the story, this time stopping to follow the directions, respond to the prompts, and answer the questions on numbers 1-9. 
5. Complete the short response at the end of the story, using RACE format.
