Moods for Verbs
Examples
The indicative mood is used to state a fact or ask a question. Most sentences are statements of fact in the indicative mood.

As he lay there, blossoms fell from the orchard trees.
The imperative mood is used for a command or request.
Make the blossoms fall from the trees.
The subjunctive mood (conditional) expresses a condition that is contrary to facts.
If the wind were to blow, the blossoms would fall from the trees.
