Student Led Conferences 11/3
Student-Led Conferences: The Details
Student-led conferences are the hip, new version of the
boring old parent-teacher conference model. In a student-led conference, the student
is in charge.
Your student-led conferences are this Friday, 11/3 from 7am
until 1pm.
It goes like so: the student and parent arrive in class for
the conference. They pick up a check list to go through together. The check
list asks what types of behaviors the student demonstrates to achieve his or
her own success in the class. Some of the questions are: Do you keep your
notebook organized? Do you spend time each night on your homework or reading?
Do you focus in class usually?
The student and parent get to reflect together on the
responses to these yes or no questions. After the questions have been answered,
you get to answer some short response questions ab out what changes you can
make to be more successful in the class. Start thinking about it now so you can
impress your parent or guardian with how prepared you are!
Together, you and your adult will make a plan for how you
will be your best self in this class.
Finally, the teacher (me!) will stop by your table to check
out your answers and hear about the plan for success you’re making. There will
be a tear off portion on the checklist that your parent will complete and share
with me.
And we all live happily ever after!
During the student-led conference, you MUST have your IAN
with you with this assignment completed inside. This will show off just how
prepared and successful you’re able to be in this class and will totally dazzle
your adult.
Can’t wait, guys!!!! xoxoxoxo emojis hearts stars horseshoes clovers and blue moons
